Atmospheric Distillation is one of the most important of all fundamental physical chemical properties of petroleum and petroleum products. ASTM D86 Standard Test Method is one of the oldest test methods in ASTM D2 Committee of Petroleum Products and Lubricants

Distillation flasks are specially designed flasks which have a round-bottom, a long, thin-neck and a side-arm for the separation of the liquids. The sidearm tube is sealed at an angle of 75 º from the neck and is 137 ± 3 mm from the bottom of the flask. It is designed from ASTM Specification E133 and intended for use in ASTM D86, D233, D801, and D802.

General description

  • It is made from high quality glass (Schott Duran, Germany) to ensure durability.

  • The glass has high levels of thermal, chemical and shock resistance and is hence, suited for a wide range of laboratory applications.

  • The glass of the flask is carefully designed to have a consistent wall-thickness and this ensures uniform heating and avoids temperature variations across the liquids in the flask.

  • Complies with the requirements for ASTM test methods D86, D233, D447, D801, D802 and IP 123

  • Length of side-arm is 100mm

  • Available in 25 mL (Micro) , 125 mL & 200 mL capacities. Distillation flask with an interchangeable joint also available.

  • These flasks are compatible for OptiDist®, ISL®, & Petrotest / Tanaka AD
